Worship Ministry

We welcome you in Christian Fellowship to Worship with us each Sunday at Redlands First United Methodist Church.  Our service typically begins at 9:30 in the Sanctuary.  By attending our services, it is our intent for all to pray and share God’s word in many different forms so that our burdens become lighter, our hearts become encouraged and our souls are refreshed.

IMG_3136We offer a traditional worship service.  The first Sunday of each month, we celebrate the Sacrament of Holy Communion.  All who acknowledge Jesus as lord are invited to celebrate communion, but you can choose whether or not you want to participate.  Communion elements consist of bread and grape juice, as well as gluten free bread for those with dietary restrictions.

We encourage our members to not only observe our Worship Service, but to also participate in sharing God’s Word.  We have many ways to contribute.  We have many types of wonderful music ministries including the Adult Sanctuary Choir, the Olive Street Ringers which is our handbell choir, the children’s Joyful Noise Choir, various soloists and ensembles, and dance performances.  We encourage our congregation members to be liturgists, ushers, communion stewards, and our young people to be acolytes.  We also have opportunities for people to assist in visual design of the chancel and all forms of media including video recording, sound, and graphic design.  We strive to make our Worship Service to be a place where people feel they belong, where they can share God’s message with each other.  If you would be interested in becoming involved in any of these ministries, please contact one of our pastors or write a note in our red attendance pads in our pews.

Another form of worship is Messy Church. Messy Church is multi-generational worship once a month to involve entire families, especially children. Activities, stories, songs, crafts and games are all centered around the scriptural theme for the evening. It is a fun way to learn about God and to worship God.
