A Storied History
Since November 1887, we have been a church that has extensively supported local and global mission. In 1891, we helped establish the Redlands African Methodist Episcopal Church. In the early 1900s, we helped launch the Spanish Methodist Episcopal Church and the Union Korean Mission in Redlands. In 1905, we lent our support to form Grace Methodist Episcopal Church, which later became University United Methodist Church. We have a long history of support for Redlands Family Service and various Redlands-area nonprofits, and we are one of the founding churches for the Redlands Christian Counseling Service.
In 1923, we chartered Boy Scout troop #4, the oldest troop in Redlands. Over the years we have hosted many Girl Scout groups. Since 1957, we have helped six refugee families make the transition to life in the U.S. We have offered facilities to a Tongan congregation, a Jewish congregation, and the Church of Christ. We have hosted numerous child care programs in service to the church and community. We also lent a hand to the birth of Youth Hope.
Today we continue our long legacy of service, community, and faith.
